A piece of paradise we built ourselves.
Since 1968, a home on Lake Erie for boaters who were told the water wasn't theirs. One of only two member run, predominantly African American yacht clubs in the country — and the only one that sits on its own body of water.
Inter City was founded in 1968 by thirteen men who were tired of being turned away. Black boaters in Cleveland couldn't dock at the local clubs or even buy fuel — so they built their own place on the lakefront.
Almost sixty years later, it's still here, still member run, and still open to everyone. We're not the fanciest club on the lake. We're the one that feels like home.

More than a marina.
A real community
It's the people who make this club. Walk through the gate not knowing what you're looking for, and you'll leave fulfilled anyway.
The water, within reach
We were founded so working people could afford to boat. We've kept it that way on purpose. You don't even need to own a boat to join.
Good food, good music
Twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year. You will never go hungry, and you will always hear something good.
A view worth the trip
High ceilings, an open clubhouse, and a patio looking straight out over Lake Erie.
The man in front of the bulldozer.
Our founder, James "Slim" Parks, once parked his car in front of a state bulldozer and refused to move until the lease papers arrived. That's the spirit this club was built on. We've weathered recessions, an aging membership, and a superstorm that nearly took our docks. Every time, we rebuilt.

There's a place for you here.
Whether you've got a boat, you're thinking about one, or you just believe in what we're protecting.
